Description of competition

‘Buzz without booze’ is a project aimed at 11- 16 year olds, living or studying in Southampton. The main aim of the project is to encourage young people to enjoy themselves without alcohol by participating in alternative activities. The competition will be run through the main ‘Buzz without booze’ website and will encourage young people to send in suggestions for activities (not involving alcohol).  The activities will be grouped in the following price ranges:

  • Under £5

  • Up to £15

  • Over £15   

Entrants submitting ideas during the competition phase will be entered into the prize draw. Only those aged 11 – 16 years living in Southampton will be entered into the competition.

How to participate

The competition is open to those aged 11 – 16 years living in Southampton. Family and friends of the Young Persons’ Social Marketing Group (YPSMG) will not be able to enter.  Those entering should discuss their entry with parents or guardians.

Entry to the competition is free and no purchase or payment is required to enter or win the competition.

There is no limit on the number of entries an individual can submit.

Entry forms will not be returned.

Entries must not include any sexual, violent, racist or abusive behaviour or language. Entrants who do not comply with the competition rules will be disqualified. Any entries containing such material will be forwarded to the relevant authorities.

Competition period

The competition will run from Monday 13 February 2012 to Saturday 31 March 2012.  Entries made after the closing date will not be submitted for the prize draw.

How to enter

You can enter through the ‘www.buzzwithoutbooze.org

The entry form can be downloaded from the website or requested by phone on 023 8029 6001.

Your entry must include your name, e-mail address, age and first four digits of your postcode .  The YPSMG will only ever use your contact details for the purpose of administrating the competition. We will not publish them or provide them to anyone without permission. 

Prizes

There will be 10 prizes. The first prize will be awarded to the most innovative idea with a further 9 prizes picked via a voting system online. The prizes are as follows:

3rd Prize - £20 I Tunes Voucher

Winner selection and notification

The winners will be selected by the YPSMG.  Notification will be made to the winners via e-mail and will be asked to provide identification before the prize can be awarded. Winners must be accompanied by an appropriate adult in order to claim the prize. When claiming the prize the winners authorise the use without additional compensation of his or her name, voice and photograph to be used by the YPSMG group for promotional activities. Any concerns regarding publicity can be discussed with the promoters.
